Alumni News
  • The UVic Alumni Association cordially invites all UVic grads to attend our first UVic Alumni and Family Game Night. Cheer with Thunder, the Vikes Mascot, at the women's and/or men's basketball game against Thompson River University on Saturday February 8th in McKinnon Gym! CLICK HERE for event details.
  • After five years as a varsity field hockey athlete, and three years as a valued Vikes employee, Vikes Communications Officer Ali Lee has accepted a position in Switzerland! Ali will begin a new chapter in her life as the International Field Hockey Federation (FIH) Communications Coordinator. Good luck Ali!
  • Also departing from the Vikes family is men's rowing head coach Howie Campbell. After 23 dedicated years, Campbell will leave his legacy of six championships at UVic as he moves on to become Rowing Canada Aviron training centre's assistant coach.
  • In development news, the Vikes were recently given a generous anonymous donation as part of the CARSA campaign, a portion of which has been set aside as matching funds for all new endowed awards. Leading the charge was the Victoria International Running Society, who donated $25,000 for a new award, which was subsequently doubled by the CARSA match, making a $50,000 award for Track and Cross Country athletes. Thank you!
  • Next up, Mike Holmes, rugby alumni, issued the Vikes Rugby Challenge, with a goal of raising $500,000 for rugby endowments. We're excited to announce that as of today, the rugby lads are only $2500 away from their goal! If you're interested in learning more about how you can take advantage of this amazing opportunity, please contact Teri Kerr.
  • The Vikes are looking to fill vacant Chapter Chair positions, specifically for Vikes Rowing and Vikes Swimming. If you are interested in making a tangible volunteer impact, please contact Vikes Alumni Officer, Teri Kerr.
  • HELP US TELL YOUR STORY! Submit "what is happening to you" to our Alumni Office, so that we can continue to pass the word on to our Vikes family. Email your updates to Teri Kerr.
