Volunteer Opportunities

Alumni Association Board or Committee

The board and committees are dedicated to providing support and recognition for the University of Victoria, its students and alumni.

Student Ambassador

The UVic Student Ambassadors are a group of dedicated student volunteers who build University pride, connect to campus through meaningful volunteer experiences, help bridge the transition from student to alumnus/alumna and give back to UVic.

Event Support

Alumni relations occasionally needs volunteers to help with alumni events. For example, handing out Kind Mail cards to students, signing attendees in at a registration table, or assisting with event logistics at our high profile Alumni Week events! If you can't commit to a regular volunteer schedule, then this may be a good fit.

Guest Speaker

Share your stories and expertise with student and alumni audiences by giving a keynote presentation, workshop or participating on a panel.

Diploma Frame Volunteer

Diploma Frame Volunteers are responsible for framing diplomas at convocation based on graduate requests, and providing friendly customer service to ensure the framing and pick-up process runs smoothly for convocation attendees. Read the complete position description here.

Community Outreach (now recruiting!)

Project Serve is a one-day community service-learning opportunity that matches UVic students and alumni with local community organizations to spend the day working on a service project. Spend a day contributing to a local community organization, support a cause you care about, and learn about the community service-learning approach, which combines hands-on service work with reflection. This is a great opportunity for alumni to work alongside students! Register for Project Serve here.

Reunion Coordination

Reunion Coordinators use their creativity, enthusiasm and organizational skills to plan activities to celebrate their UVic reunion. Create or join a committee to plan a reunion for your department, faculty or UVic alumni friends and help your fellow alumni renew and maintain connections with one another and with the university!

Chapters, Networks and Regions

Volunteers work collaboratively with alumni relations staff to organize events in various locations or within an affinity group such as a chapter, network or region. These positions include building pride amongst alumni, encouraging connection within the affinity group and helping at various events.
