Creative Placemaking

A Talk with Nathan Medd

Join Nathan Medd (BFA '01, Theatre), the new Managing Director of Performing Arts at the Banff Centre and recipient of the 2019 Distinguished Alumni Award in Fine Arts, for a lively discussion about the ins and outs (and ups and downs) of creative placemaking. From development and gentrification to funding and accessibility for artists and audiences, get ready to “nerd out” about the business of the arts. Joining Medd on the panel will be long-time colleagues Kevin Kerr, co-founder of Vancouver’s Electric Company and a professor in the Department of Writing, and Janet Munsil, former Intrepid Theatre artistic director and Metro Studio co-founder, who is also a Phoenix alumna and current MFA candidate in Writing.
