It’s hard to think of an academic program so popular that it’s continued to host alumni reunions for the better part of half-a-century, but that musical legacy is what makes the University of Victoria Chamber Singers so unique. For 50 years now, UVic’s Chamber Singers have proven to be one of the most endearing — and enduring — School of Music performance groups, thanks in large part to Bruce More’s inspired leadership as the ensemble’s longest-standing conductor.
While Bruce retired in 2008, he continues to host alumni reunions and foster connections that strengthen the long and prestigious history of the Chamber Singers. Open by audition to undergraduate and graduate students from any UVic faculty or department, as well as community members, the Chamber Singers have sung to enthusiastic audiences in 40 countries, 140 cities and even participated in a Juno Award-winning Massey Hall performance!
To celebrate the remarkable legacy of the Chamber Singers, and enthrall audiences for the next 50 years, an anonymous donor is matching gifts to the Bruce More Legacy Fund Endowment, dollar-for-dollar—meaning that your gift will have twice the impact!
