Support the Warren Magnusson Graduate Scholarship in Political Theory

Warren Magnusson was a long-time faculty member in the Department of Political Science at the University of Victoria.  He brought curiosity, rigour and fundamental generosity to his relationships with students and colleagues alike. Warren’s scholarly work was at the intersection of political theory and urban politics, and he was a co-founder of a flagship interdisciplinary graduate program to foster critical theory—Cultural, Social and Political Thought—with now over 150 alumni. Many former colleagues and students from near and far have paid tribute to the profound impact Warren had on their thinking, their work, and their lives – on how they see the world.

The Warren Magnusson Graduate Scholarship in Political Theory will be awarded annually to an academically outstanding graduate student whose research focuses on political theory. One student will be supported each year in Warren’s name in perpetuity.

Your gift will help sustain a critical academic environment where UVic graduate students can thrive. While the endowment will provide approximately $1000 annually to start, its impact will grow with every donation-expanding support for future scholars in political theory.
