A love for problem-solving

“I’ve always been fascinated with how things work,” Ash Luft says, “Not just in the sense of electronics but how technology can be used to solve problems in our bodies. Her love of problem-solving led Ash to the University of Victoria to pursue a master's in Electrical Engineering.

But when financial stress threatened her ability to finish her degree; donor support was there to help. “I can’t tell you how relieved I was when I got the news,” Luft says. "Not only did it relieve the financial pressure that I feel but it is reassuring that people see the impact of my work.”

Learning from and with the land

The Canet Foundation opened their farm to UVic students and faculty as a living classroom to support Indigenous land-based education.

Students give to peers in financial stress

Seeing a need among their classmates a Student Ambassadors donated their proceeds from flower and frame sales at convocation to the Student Emergency Fund.

This newsletter is a glimpse at some stories of hope and achievement that were made possible because of your support of the University of Victoria. THANK YOU.
