Join the Alumni Association to recharge your spirit with this UVic Alumni Guest Speaker Series event featuring alumna Reen Rose—TEDx speaker, international bestselling author, and self-described “happiness maven.”
Reen draws on her own experience navigating depression to explore how our brains sometimes tell us unhelpful stories about life and well-being. In this talk, she’ll reveal why unhappiness isn’t something that needs “fixing,” practical ways to build real, sustainable happiness into daily life, and how small, research backed changes can be truly transformative.

Meet the Speaker:
Reen Rose is an internationally recognized speaker, educator and bestselling author who helps individuals and organizations unlock the power of happiness as a learnable life skill. After living through a season of depression, Reen devoted herself to studying positive psychology, human behavior and neuroscience—discovering that happiness isn’t just a feeling but a set of skills anyone can grow with evidence-based practice.
Her engaging presentations blend humour, personal narrative and science-backed strategies that leave audiences feeling empowered, equipped and inspired to take small steps that lead to big shifts in well-being. Reen has delivered keynotes and workshops for diverse audiences and is the author of several books.
