Conversation with Bev Sellars

Join us for an evening with award-winning author, activist and UVic Distinguished Alumni Award recipient Bev Sellars (BA ’97) as she guides participants in a thought-provoking discussion about the ways our cultural differences impact how we understand the world and each other.

Sellars will reflect on differences in Indigenous and settler worldviews and discuss how those contrasting practices influence our history and relationships. As a former chief of the Xat’sull First Nation and speaker on subjects including Indigenous rights and the impacts of residential schools, Sellars will explore this subject through her unique lens, offering insight into how cultural upbringing impacts the ways we relate to one another and how improved understanding can lead to stronger relationships.

Register now to join us for this virtual discussion. Participants will also have an opportunity to join the conversation in a dedicated Q&A session. Attendees can also enter to win 1 of 10 copies of Bev Sellars' award-winning book, They Called Me Number One: Secrets and Survival at an Indian Residential School.
